Default Suggestion For Mission Quests and Disconnction from Internet

I have a suggestion that would make the game less frustrating and more enjoyable for me and maybe others who play. I have experienced problems of being out on a quest with other members or doing a mission with others and gettin disconnected. This proves to be extremely annoying and frustrating becuase you have to start all over again to complete that mission or quest. I suggest/request a way to join back with a party you were teamed up with if you are disconnected so you can hop back in the action without feeling like throwing this game in the trash.

Thank you

What if the other members felt you intentionally abadoned a quest to skip a "hard" part and then wanted back in to get your piece of the pie? Good idea but I think there are too many if's.

I have long thought this is a good idea. It would be TERRIFIC if there was a set amount of time one had in order to rejoin. Perhaps 2-5 minutes? Once that time is gone, the dropped player is out of luck.

But can this be done in 'instance-based' play?

I actually suggested having save points along a mission quest and even having a pay feature to save at that point to act as a gold sink. I use dial-up and had to run through a mission four times before I could complete it without crashing. Needless to say, I grew very tired of Devourers very quickly after that point.

In my opinion ryanjafar's idea is great. I'm suffering from a bad connection myself. Just today I got kicked out of the Frost Gate mission twice, and once I got almost to the end of it. It's BORING. I only lost my connection for a minute or so.
It would be very easy for the engine to check if the player logged out himself or lost connection. (Yeah, I know that some people would pull the plug or shut down the connection outside of GW, but they're losers anyway).
I always feel bad when I get disconnected and it's impossible for me even to apologize to the group; I think that if I returned to the party after 1-2 minutes people wouldn't be as angry as if I'd never return at all.

BTW, first post :-)

I also have long thought this needed to be implemented....I just hate getting to the end of a mission and then losing both of your monks to a bad connection. How can we point this out to the gw staff and let them figure out a way to make it fair and doable?

ya, me and a friend just play together with the rest bein henchmen, so I never really worry about others bailing in the middle on purpose. I just find it a huge inconvenience when I'm in a mission and *BINK!* my internet craps out. It's frustrating and entierly my computer's fault most of the time, and I'm sure others experience it as well. I'm sure a way can be implemented to address this problem. Not sure how it will work with instance based server or how to avoid the cheating individuals in the Guildwars community. Whatever the case may be, I just hope they can implement a feature later that wouldn't require extra pay.

Maybe if there was even a choice for the group to allow for reconnections. Such that the party leader can allow for members of the party to reconnect at a later time. This would avoid the party to bail from mid play. However, for those such as myself who don't have to worry about it, that would be a great feature.
